What is Guild?

Guild is a Minnesota not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization that empowers those struggling with mental illness or long-term homelessness by helping them find the tools they need to lead stable, fulfilling lives in communities of their choosing. We believe that by empowering people we can empower change.

What does your logo represent?

Our logo pulls from our rich history while being representative of our future.

In 2011, Jason Najarak gifted Guild with a beautiful painting titled “Ladder of Hope.” Watch a time-lapse of Jason painting the mural. This painting included Guild staff and volunteers while showcasing images of hope, healing, and beauty.

Our logo pulls imagery from Jason’s painting by incorporating a sun and a path. In the metaphor of our logo, we want to say, “Guild can light the way. We’ll walk alongside you, no matter where your journey takes you.”

Who does Guild help?

We help individuals age 14 years and older who live with serious mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, and bipolar disorder. Many of our clients also face barriers to reaching their optimal health, including medical conditions, chronic homelessness, isolation, unemployment, poverty, and substance use disorder. In fact, half of our clients have a co-occurring disorder, which means they cope with a medical condition or substance use disorder in addition to mental illness.

We work with people with serious mental illness at all stages of their journey, whether they are currently experiencing a crisis, or have achieved stability and are using Guild services to maintain their health. The experience of mental illness is not linear and varies for every person. That’s why our services are comprehensive and interconnected—or as one of our clients said, “the glue between the cracks, preventing me from falling.”

Can Guild find me housing?

Guild works with eligible individuals to help them find, secure, and maintain stable housing. Eligible individuals typically have a diagnosed mental illness or have been experiencing chronic homelessness. To see if you are eligible for Guild’s housing services, visit our housing page.

Can Guild find me a job?

Guild offers employment services that help individuals find and maintain enjoyable jobs in competitive markets.

To qualify for Guild’s Employment Services, individuals must be participating in our Delancey Street Services or be receiving Targeted Case Management from Guild in Dakota or Ramsey County. For Dakota County residents, we also work with TCM providers external to Guild. For Scott County residents, we work with the county TCM team, Treatment Court, or the Mental Health Center.

To be eligible for the Youth Program of Employment Services, individuals must be 16-24, have a psychiatric illness, and be a resident of Dakota County.
