Intensive Residential Treatment Services (IRTS) offer a safe, home-like environment where you can develop or enhance the stability of your mental and/or chemical health. If you need intensive services to help you cope with and manage an illness like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, or another psychiatric illness, IRTS is a supportive place to go.

Find stability and calm

Intensive Residential Treatment Services are provided in a warm and welcoming environment with staff available 24/7. Our goal is to help you stabilize your health while staying in a safe environment. We offer Dual Disorder Treatment and Illness Management and Recovery curriculum. Our program includes group and individual activities that build on one’s healthy living skills and utilize therapeutic recreation.

IRTS Services help:

  • Create a treatment and recovery plan based on your needs and goals.
  • Develop symptom management and coping skills.
  • Understand and maintain an effective medication program.
  • Build living skills, including budgeting, cooking, transportation, stress management, and more.

Specifics

The IRTS team consists of Mental Health Counselors and Mental Health practitioners, including a Peer Recovery Specialist and Therapeutic Recreational Specialist. A Registered Nurse is available to discuss concerns including psychiatric treatment services and substance use disorders. Clinical supervision is provided by a Licensed Mental Health Professional and psychiatric consultation is obtained from the individual’s treating psychiatrist. Guild’s IRTS program is licensed by the MN Department of State and the MN Department of Human Services.

We offer meetings to support friends, family, and loved ones. If you are interested in these services, you can let IRTS staff know during your stay.
