Delancey Apartments: A Supportive Community

March 2, 2026

For individuals transitioning from homelessness into stable housing, having a safe, welcoming place to call home can be life changing. Delancey Apartments — Guild’s collaborative supportive housing program with Project for Pride in Living (PPL) — provides exactly that. The 13-unit permanent supportive housing building offers residents not only a comfortable living space, but also the wraparound services and strong sense of community that help people rebuild their lives.

PPL owns and manages the property, while Guild provides on-site services tailored to each tenant’s needs. Kierstin Munn, clinical supervisor trainee at Guild, explains that residents are referred through coordinated entry, often coming from sheltered homelessness or living outdoors. “When people move in here, they receive case management, peer support, and community support. Our goal is to help them maintain housing and build the stability they want — whether they stay long-term or eventually move on.”

A major benefit of the program is the opportunity for residents, after one year in good standing, to become eligible for a Section 8 voucher.

“That can be transformational,” Munn says. “People can continue their progress and take the next step in their housing journey if that’s their goal.”

Noah Bedford, Tenant Navigator

Noah Bedford, tenant navigator at Guild, sees every day how having a secure home allows residents to focus on their wellbeing.

“Once they’re housed, we can support them with whatever else they need — appointments, benefits, paperwork, food access, or just being someone to talk to. Housing opens the door to all of that.”

But beyond the services, Delancey Apartments also fosters a warm community where neighbors look out for one another. Monthly events — hosted by Holly Hofmann, one of Guild’s community support specialists, who has been with the program for more than a decade — play a big role in building that connection. From bingo and trivia to Friendsgiving and the annual Super Bowl party, these gatherings create moments of joy and relationship-building.

“Food brings people together,” Hofmann says with a laugh. “But it’s really about giving people a space to connect and unwind. After events, residents talk about them all week — they mean a lot.”

For residents like Chearreatha Moore, who has lived at Delancey for two years, that sense of community is a source of encouragement and empowerment.

“We check on one another, support one another, and just make sure everyone is doing okay,” she shares. “Sometimes it’s a meal, sometimes it’s helping with something small, or sometimes it’s just talking. Those moments really matter.”

Moore says the stability and support she’s experienced have helped her reach personal milestones, including maintaining her sobriety for nearly two years.

“Being here has given me peace of mind,” she told us. “I’ve learned so much: humility, confidence, and how to be a good neighbor. I’ve even learned new technology skills with help from staff.”

Bedford agrees that growth is a common theme. “People learn how to be part of a community. They build trust, support one another, and develop skills that strengthen their independence.”

For Moore, Delancey Apartments represents a new beginning. “This is an awesome place to live,” she says. “It’s a great stepping stone that helps you get where you need to be.”

Hofmann puts it best: “For some, it’s a stepping stone. For others, it becomes home. The beauty is that Delancey allows for both.”
