Jacques is a Psychiatric Resident on Guild’s Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team.

Q: Describe a typical day as a Psychiatric Resident at Guild.

Jacques: Coordinating patient visits, reviewing medications and treatment plans, meeting with patients, and supervision with the ACT Team Psychiatrist.

 

Q: How did your career path lead you to your current position at Guild?

Jacques: I was eager to work with patients in a community setting after primarily working in the hospital and clinic and gaining experience in highly integrated care environments.

 

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job? 

Jacques: Building relationships with patients and team members. Learning new treatment strategies and techniques.

 

Q: Why is the ACT program important? 

Jacques: ACT programs reach patients normal healthcare cannot and are vital to connecting with patients with serious mental illness. They also show an effective model of highly integrated care delivery.

 

Q: What do you do in your free time? 

Jacques: Mostly spending time with my very energetic 4-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son. I also enjoy cooking BBQ, building computers, reading comics, fishing, and kayaking.
